Get to Know Us

PROPer [PROH-pur] Associates is not your typical consultancy — we are a socially conscious firm with multiple missions, grounded in the belief that safety is a basic human right and the new sustainability.

Our primary focus is fire & life safety and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) across all sectors of real estate. We acknowledge that the U.S. real estate industry carries an ugly history of exclusion — both formal and cultural — and we recognize the unique responsibility this sector holds to lead meaningful change.

We live the concept of an integrated life, where personal and professional values align. In today’s world, a personal brand is the fusion of:

  • Professional — the public-facing work you do and how you create value.

  • Personal — the inward-facing values, relationships, and causes you invest in.

  •

At PROPer, we blur those lines intentionally. We bring human-centered safety, DEIB advocacy, and strategic operational support together to serve those who create and maintain welcoming, equitable, resilient, and enriching spaces.

Our founding tenets are to boost the profile, mindset, spirit, and emotional resilience of the entire property management ecosystem — from the C-suite to the front desk.

Welcome to tomorrow for all — where safety, inclusion, and community are inseparable.

About

Adele Bayless, RPA FMA, Founder & Lead Trainer

With over 30 years in property and facility management, I have built expertise across every aspect of the industry — from property maintenance and tenant relations to budget oversight, lease negotiations, and operational strategy. My career has shown me one truth: safety and sustainability are inseparable in modern property management.

In both 2011 and 2024, I earned the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Certificate of Fitness, enabling me to design emergency plans, train building teams, and conduct large-scale evacuation drills with precision and confidence. I was proud to play a pivotal role in launching Minneapolis’s first Class A high-rise in 20 years — a 37-story mixed-use landmark integrating office, hotel, and residential spaces.00

My experience spans the full spectrum of property types:

  • High-, mid-, and low-rise office buildings

  • Suburban office parks and industrial complexes

  • Retail centers, shopping malls, and multifamily housing

  • Homeowners associations and luxury residential estates

  • Bank facilities, including trading floors, call centers, branches, and private banks

Since 2001, I have held the Real Property Administrator (RPA©) and Facility Management Administrator (FMA©) designations, underscoring my dedication to excellence.

I am equally committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and to building strong, trust-based relationships between first responders and commercial property managers. Whether conducting seminars, contributing to industry white papers, or teaching in the RPA program, my mission is consistent: to combine technical readiness with emotional resilience, creating safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone.
