Frequently Asked Questions
PROPer reflects the intersection of the professional and the personal - the whole person showing up in every moment. It’s about being prepared, resilient, and grounded whether you’re managing a building, leading a team, or caring for your community. The name reminds us that true safety starts with people, not just procedures.
It is pronounced [prOH] [per]
Our approach integrates operational know-how and emotional safety with emergency training, helping people stay calm, confident, and connected when it matters most.
We specialize in high-rise office, residential, and mixed-use buildings, including hotels that require compliance with local high-rise fire/life-safety codes. We also provide the same services for low & mid rise, as well as industrial buildings.
We offer both virtual and live onsite training nationwide. Virtual sessions are delivered through secure platforms (ZOOM or TEAMS), while live programs can be scheduled by request—travel and lodging costs are billed separately for locations outside of the Greater Los Angeles area.
Standard Fire Life Safety training sessions typically run 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of participants and the building’s complexity.
Fire and evacuation drills vary by property size and tenant load, generally lasting 30 minutes to 2 hours, including pre-brief and debrief time. Larger or multi-tower sites may require coordination across multiple floors or phases to minimize disruption.
We serve clients across California—from Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Bay Area to Sacramento and San Diego—and support select national portfolios through virtual and hybrid programs. Wherever there’s a building community committed to safety and care, PROPer can help.
Our primary focus is California, where PROPer is certified and aligned with local fire-life-safety standards. While we consult with select out-of-state clients, jurisdictions such as New York City and Chicago have their own certification requirements that we do not currently hold. Local codes always prevail, and any PROPer programs must be reviewed for acceptance before implementation.
We’re based in Los Angeles but consult with properties nationwide. Our goal is to make PROPer training accessible anywhere preparedness, resilience, and human-centered safety are valued.

Our team integrates these requirements with your building’s emergency organization, communication protocols, and tenant engagement strategies, creating a plan that’s both compliant and genuinely effective in real-world conditions.

Training tenants, residents, and on-site staff is an integral part of compliance, empowering everyone in the building to respond calmly and effectively during an emergency. We create brief, accessible materials to help residents understand evacuation routes and emergency alerts.
