Evacuation Drills Should Build More Than Compliance
An evacuation drill is more than an annual requirement. Done well, it gives people an opportunity to practice what they may one day need to do under pressure.
But planning a meaningful drill takes work. Someone has to establish the objectives, coordinate the participants, communicate with occupants, document what happened, and determine what should improve before the next exercise.

Here's My Go Bag
Review your bag every six months. Replace expired food, rotate medications, recharge batteries, and update documents. A perfectly packed bag from 2019 isn't much help if the flashlight is dead, the snacks have fossilized, and the emergency contact sheet still lists your old job. Preparedness isn't about perfection. It's about giving your future self a head start when life decides to become unnecessarily dramatic.
