When I walked in the building I was to observe and certify a fire drill, I saw a sign that warmed my heart. The building specifically let tenants, occupants, and visitors know what was scheduled to happen. Communication is key and there is everything right about letting folks know what to expect.

PRO TIP: never disclose the exact time. If someone asks what are they to do - advise them, "exactly what you would do in an actual emergency."
